No, that's definitely not a good idea. My sister was wondering the same thing, so we looked it up- and it seems that the risk of infection is a very dangerous thing for your baby.
Here's what I found online:
"It is not advisable to have any body decoration procedure that would involve breaking the skin while you are pregnant. This includes procedures like piercing, tattooing or scarification. Most studios have made it a policy not to perform tattoos or piercings on anyone pregnant or breastfeeding. When you get a tattoo or piercing, you face a small chance of an allergic reaction or an infection. It just isn't worth the risk when you can just wait a few extra months and then get the tattoo or piercing you desire.
Any invasive procedure normally involves a small risk of infection. If you are pregnant, this might adversely affect your baby. You also risk contracting a blood borne disease if the needles used are not properly sterilized or are contaminated in some way. Your body is changing and you have enough to worry about without the added worry of caring for a new piercing. It is better to have a piercing completely healed before becoming pregnant; otherwise it might not heal properly until after your baby is born.
"I wouldn't recommend getting a tattoo while pregnant. All causes of infection are to be avoided during pregnancy, as your immune system does not work the way it normally does. Even minor infections should be treated promptly during pregnancy. Anything that could even potentially result in an infection in the blood is particularly to be avoided, so that would include getting a tattoo. Fortunately, pregnancy does not last very long, and waiting a few weeks or months is a very small price to pay to protect your child's health." ~~Cynthia Flynn, CNM"

Is it safe to get a tattoo during pregnancy?
The risk is that you can get hepatitis B or C from a tattoo. Most states regulate tattoo parlors so that they have to use a new needle and equipment every time. If you know that the needle you're being tattooed with has never been used on anyone else or has been sterilized, then I can't imagine there would be a problem. But if the equipment isn't new or clean, then you are at risk of getting hepatitis B or C, just as you are when you're not pregnant. If you have hepatitis B, we can vaccinate the baby right after he's born to prevent him from getting it. But if you get hepatitis C and your levels are high when you go into labor, you could transmit it to the baby through blood contact during delivery and there is no vaccine or cure.
Tattoos are not recommended during pregnancy. First of all, your skin changes during pregnancy and that may change the way the tattoo looks after you deliver the baby. In addition, if the equipment is not properly sterilized, there's always the risk of transmission of blood-borne infections such as hepatitis B, hepatitis C, and HIV

Most tattoo parlors will NOT tattoo a pregnant person. For several reasons. Risk of infection, risk of hepatitis spreading to the baby and the obvisous risk that the tattoo will stretch and become UGLY. Because if the skin is pulled while still in scab form, it can scar the tattoo. If it stretches after its healed, its just saggy looking. So my advice, wait till your done shrinking after baby is born.

It's really no more dangerous than when you aren't PG. The biggest concern is infection from a dirty needle. But most reliable tattoo artist's will not tattoo a pregnant woman.

No, its really not ok, like others have said..... its not that it is harmful to the fetus- its the risk of you developing infection.
I got a tattoo, then discovered a few days later that I was pregnant - and my child is fine. I was just lucky.

yeah u can, however, the ink DOES NOT affect the baby, it does not get in ur blood stream. the risk is getting an infection from a dirty needle, which CAN hurt ur baby. so if u do, make sure that its a clean and sterilized needle that they use. probably best to wait tho, just to be safe.

you know i don't for sure, better ask your doctor about that.
If you just ask a general question on weather or not to have one while pregnant i will would say no don't do it.
Wait till after the baby born, i will be safer for yourself and unborn child.
BETTER SAFER THAN SORRY

No way! I read (during my pregnancy) not to even color your hair while pregnant. What if the ink on your tatoo somehow winds up in your bloodstream & is passed on to the baby. I wouldn't risk it.
