I have never drank alcohol before and will be soon (birthday). I take my birth control everyday at night.

I was wondering if there is a good amount of time to start drinking after taking my birth control pill.

Being that I am a first time drinker, I really do not know how my body will react to alcohol or how fast I may or may not throw up.

So how long should I wait after taking my pill to drink alcohol?

Any information will help. Thanks.

Seriously, no reason to start drinking now, but I'm a drinker so I'm not judging. If you're worried about throwing up from drinking and losing the effect of your birth control pill, you are right. Give yourself 3 hours after. Read your leaflet that comes with them, that's where I think I read about being sick or having diarrhea will lessen your affects of the pill because you will lose some of the medication.

drinking alcohol and birth control at the same time will not have any effect on your body, unless you already experience nausea. since you are a first time drinker, eat good meals throughout the day, so you have food in your system when you do drink. and i would recommend drinking slow. Try and not mix alcohol, like beer and hard liquor, because i know with many people that makes them sick.

stay safe, for your first time make sure you are around people you trust and do not get to intoxicated
