I had my waters broken for me in hospital in UK, I didn't get charged for it, and can't imagine why I would have been, so I don't think you would get charged - they use a long plastic hook type thing (although you won't care what they use if you get to the point that they need to do it) It feels a bit wierd and doesn't hurt.
Many women go to hospital because they think their waters have broken and they have just leaked - advice is to put a pad on and if you are still leaking after 2 hours, go to hospital.

You wont be charged at all!! Unless you go private.
Also, your waters may not be yellow and they may not gush out. If you think they have broken, use a pad and within an hour or two you will be able to tell. Most waters don't gush or break dramatically but seep out fairly slowly. Often if you are lying down for a while and then get up you may feel a bit of a rush of the water that has collected inside your vagina. Once your waters have broken and you go to the hospital, they will induce you in 24 hours as there is an increased risk of infection. Good luck and hope this helps.

Don't know about the doctor charging to break you water, but if your water breaks on its own, or is leaking it usually keeps leaking. Your body keeps replacing the fluid until the baby is out. I have had 3 and only with #2 did her water break on its own (at home). I was 15 min from the hospital and it took 15 min to get hubby and #1 son up and going and I had gone through 3 pads. If you are just leaking it probably will not be that drastic.

Take care!

Believe me - when your waters go you'll know all about it! My waters went on their own with the 1st and 3rd and they werebroken for me during labour with my 2nd. With the first there were a few goes till it was all gone with the 3rd it all went in a oner! A lot of fluid I can tell you! I have never heard of being charged for it, unless hubby slipped them a few quid while I was out of it!
As for leaking - I thought I was twice with my 3rd but it turned out I was peeing small amounts- oops!! There are special swabs that can test any liquid and the cotton turns black if amniotic fluid. Nothing happens for pee!
When the waters go you do feel different since the pressure from it is gone and the contractions take on a new slant!

hiya you would only no if your waters have gone either by a gush,a noticable leak or in my case a scan which found had low fluid so had a speculum test which shows if did(like a smear with a large cotton ear bud type thing)if water which collects in the cervix not vagina makes the stick turn dark blue,if this happens they will admit you for 2 days just because of infection but because your quite far they may let it ride its self send you home and go in when you start contractions,im not sure if 1st or 2nd etc baby and can differ in actions midwifes take.hope this helps.GOOD LUCK.

I've never heard of a Doc charging you for breaking your waters...
With my first my waters started to break slowly and gushed with every contraction.
With my second and third babies, my waters went in the bath and I had no idea. The contractions came thick and fast and I nearly had my son in the bath.
When I had my last baby, she was nearly born in her bag of waters, the midwives spent an hour trying to hook the bag of waters and ended up hooking my cervix, my waters broke and were full of my blood. My baby girl was born soon after.

you may desire to call the well being facility and tell them your water in simple terms broke. they're going to ask you to come again in and computer screen the toddler for a on a similar time as. if no contractions have began you would be sent homestead and asked to come again returned between 12-18hours later to be began off. and dont you advise in the experience that your water breaks... it in basic terms occurs in approximately 15% of human beings. frequently contractions commence and annoying artwork is unquestionably better till now any gushes of water. I easily have 2 infants and the two cases i continuously needed my water to randomly explode on the tip. even though it didnt! they have been poped with my 2nd by utilising the midwife, yet with my first they broke while i became into approximately 8cm dilated

If you are going to see a GP then I really don't see how they could charge you for it because that's not how the NHS works. And I doubt they would do it either. Your waters would normally only be broken if you were in labour about to give birth and they hadn't broken yet.

When your waters break it gushes at first - you will know when they break. I had my waters broke by the midwife on both my pregnancies and I wasn't charged for it - never heard that one before
