i think it depends were you live. as weird as that sounds but were i was growing up... everyone shaved! and if you didn't the guys would talk about it with their buddies and make fun of you. I sorta wish i grew up in a place were it was opttional because shaving is such a pain.. but ive started to like the way it looks afterwards and i feel more"clean" or whatever without the hair there. You can ask your friends about this kinda stuff too.. thats how i learned how to shave down there.. *shave in the direction your hair grows! (the opposite direction that you shave your legs!)haha =)

I'm sorry to hear about the loss of your Mother; i know that makes a lot of matters difficult for you and especially matters that deal with delicate feminine questions and issues. If anyone laughs at you or makes fun of your question, just dismiss them as they are insensitive creeps.
As a matter of pleasant appearance and good personal care and habits, you should wax or shave any pubic hair that is visible when you are wearing a bathing suit. So, put on your bathing suit, stand in front of the mirror and see if you have areas that need to be addressed. If you see just a little bit, then it is probably best to go ahead and shave about 1/2 to 1 inch along your hairline; that way when your bathing suit shifts as you swim and move around, you won't be in any danger of embarrassing yourself
This is a sensitive area, so you need to look carefully for the proper razor for that. They can be found in the razors section. Shave gently (don't drag or press down on the razor); it's very easy to get red bumps. If you choose to get a wax, it's best to go to a professional to have that done. It's not comfortable, but it's over quickly.
For areas that do NOT show when wearing a bathing suit, it's a matter of personal choice. You seem young, so i would suggest you don't worry about any areas that are not visible unless you're in your bathing suit. When you are a few years older, you will be better informed to make a decision about the rest of that portion of your anatomy.
I hope this answers your question and helps you some.

Many girls do shave. You could get a bikini wax, but that would hurt really bad. I suggest using one of those electric pubic hair shavers. They do cost more than a razor, but the blades can last for nearly two years, and you can't cut yourself with an electric shaver. Get some Bikini Zone cream or Tend Skin lotion. That will prevent shave bumps and ingrown hairs. Your skin will be really sensitive if you do decide to shave it all off. Your skin will become less sensitive if you use an electric shaver instead of a razor.

You're not supposed to do anything, however, I know people who have chosen to get rid of the hair and have waxed or shaved... I guess it depends on how much pain you're willing to go through, lol...

it's cultural, personal, and cosmetic. It's definitely become the current fad but as to what you'd like it to look like specifically, you'll have to do some googling for more specifics to see what you think looks the most fun.
I think the "racing stripe" is probably the most popular at the moment but some girls shave a lightning bolt, heart-shapes, diamonds... I've even seen a four-leaf clover once on St. Patty's Day. ;-p

either one goes well.
i shave.
but depends on you and on your guy what is best. on how you want your pubic area.
waxing though is gonna hurt so much down there...too delicate. go to your nearest beauty salon and ask options for waxing

You need to do what feels right for you. Some women prefer to have it all gone, others like it trimmed and some prefer it all natural. You have to decide what works best for you.

IF THE 'JUNGLE IS THICK WITH VINES'JUST TRIM OFF THE EXCESS. THEY SELL INEXPENSIVE BEARD AND MUSTACHE TRIMMERS. SHAVING MAY CUT SENSITIVE TISSUES, AND WAXING HURTS LIKE H___L!
