For antivirus try Avast, free and free updates with registration-very good program. If you're running an Windows OS download Windows Defender to remove and prevent spyware-free and free updates. You may also want to consider putting a free firewall like Zone Alarm on your system if you're using highspeed Internet.
Beware anything from any companies online that tell you their antispyware or antivirus software is free. There are a lot of companies that use these tactics to make you install their spyware and adware.
Also, if you don't want to use Windows Defender try Spybot or Adaware for antispyware.

Spybot - Search & Destroy detects and removes spyware, a relatively new kind of threat not yet covered by common anti-virus applications. Spyware silently tracks your surfing behaviour to create a marketing profile for you that is transmitted without your knowledge to the compilers and sold to advertising companies. If you see new toolbars in your Internet Explorer that you haven't intentionally installed, if your browser crashes inexplicably, or if your home page has been "hijacked" (or changed without your knowledge), your computer is most probably infected with spyware. Even if you don't see the symptoms, your computer may be infected, because more and more spyware is emerging. Spybot-S&D is free.

Best programs for a good running pc and are free, the first two get all the add ware when you them one at a time. They caught a key logger first time I used them. The last one on the list is my favorite it cleans all the junk files and a whole lot more .Zone alarm is about as good as it gets. This and yahoo security suit are all I use to keep my pc happy.Defrag and scandisk also.
Y ou can only have one antivirous at a time.

The Very best is to delete Windows, and install an open source (free) software like kubuntu available at www.kubuntu.org
Any antivirus software, running on Windows, will, at best, prevent about 99% of virii. That is not good enough because there are 114,000 viruses, and that would mean you would get over 1000 of them. However, if you want to try to keep your computer secure with an insecure operating system (Windows) then go to www.majorgeeks.com and download either Avaast, AVG or antiVir for free.
