These are pictures of your clutch slave cylinder, one alone and one installed in the trans;

No matter what I believe you were told in another post, yes, you have to remove the transaxle to R&R the slave. I highly recommend also replacing the clutch assembly, the transmission input shaft seal and the engine rear main seal while you're there.

A 94 with 3.1 should have the bolt on cyl (2 13 mm nuts). I believe I've changed them on car, but why are you doing it-are you SURE it's bad?

no, the slave cylinder is located on the outside of the transmission
