You are right, you are too young to have to deal with death. But it happened and now you need to learn about it. First of all everything you are feeling is normal. What you need to do is try to keep yourself busy and you will have less time to think of your loss. And you definitely should talk to your guidance counselor at school, they can be a great help. Now, ways to take your mind off it but do so in memory or honor of your friend would be to volunteer to help someone in his honor. What did he die of - a car accident, illness, suicide, or something else? Whatever it was, you could volunteer at something that relates to that and make sure they know you are doing it in "joe's" honor. Or just volunteer at the local animal shelter to put your feelings somewhere where they are needed. Or the local nursing home or hospital. As long as you are keeping busy you will continue to recover. You will never forget your friend but the hurt will lessen with time and you will be able to talk about memories and things with love instead of with sadness. Good luck and God Bless.

i can totally relate to you, someone very close to me just died of cancer at a young age also. Now everyday i think im going to get it i feel for lumps or i get a pain i think i'm next, its just so hard but i think you did the right thing and ask for help, it seems the more i talk to other people the better i feel , its hard right now but think of the good times you had with him it'll slowly get better. Take it one day at a time.

First, I'm sorry to hear about your friend.
I guess you'll never get over him, but with time it will get better.
This is all new to you now, so it will feel bad for a while, but with time you will move on. I know things might seam hopeless right now, but believe me when i say things will get better, just give it time and stay with friends that also lost that one friend. It's much better when you're with someone.

I know what you are dealing with! I am sorry it happened to you! Please ask your parents to get you help! You need to talk to someone! Trust me! You are in my thoughts! Remember the good times with your friend and don't let this run your life!

Also there is nothing wrong in asking for help!
