I had mine pierced and just took it out a few months ago. I had it for a few years and loved it. I wear business suits to work and yet had this wild side that people could see......I say go for it..it's not trashy, it's an expression of who you are...and it doesnt hurt by the way

I've had my tongue pierced for almost ten years. It's such a common thing now that not many people dislike it. In fact, most people don't even notice it. I had a couple of friends that I had know for about 3 years and they didn't know I had my tongue pierced until they saw it in a picture. If it's something you want I say go for it! and no it really doesn't hurt like some people will have you think.

I don't speak from personal experience, but I've heard that it takes a long time to heal, gets infected easily, and the piercings often get 'caught' on things (when eating, etc.)
Also, I have never known anyone with a tongue piercinig who did NOT talk with a lisp (sounds like the person has something in their mouth when they are talking).
I wouldn't do it.
You can always get everything else pierced.
There are just SO many germs in the mouth.....
I wouldn't go there.

Get used to talking wit a lissssthp, or getting it caught on your teeth when you stick your tongue out, or getting spinich wrapped around it.
It says your Trailer-Trash with capital T's. Get the piercing and your destined to become a stretch-marked riddled stripper living in a single wide, behinds a gutted chevy and broken refrigerators. I know good looking women, and non have a tongue pierceing. Get your belly-button done instead.

my brother in law had his done. The tongue is the fastest healing muscle in the body...he took it out for 1/2 hour and it had already started to close. As for germs...it is like that with any piercing...you just have to take care of it.
If you do it, that is your personal choice, just go somewhere who is used to doing that type of thing and does a good job...don't just go into the first shop you see or the cheapest one you see...my daughter had her lip pierced, it cost $65, BUT, the girl took her time, talked to us several times before it was done going over the pros and cons, making sure we had the correct gages so it wouldn't cause scaring...just make sure you check into those types of things.

It is your decision, let me tell you this - my brother got his tongue pierced and he had the most beautiful set of teeth. He started chewing on the tongue ring the first one is metal and then he went to plastic but anyway his teeth all the way around top and bottom are chipped and look not so good. As long as you don't play with it and chew on it I guess it ain't so bad.

I wouldn't do it. Why? Because it's cool. If you are going to do something outrageous get a small and cute tattoo that will last you for ever. I don't think tongue piercing is in anymore.

When you open your mouth to speak, the piercing is all people will see....Wouldn't you rather have them see you, instead of just your tongue....
