I am looking to expand my broadband wireless service to another building without the added cost of separate instalation and monthly service charges. I need a wireless broadband router which would function up to this distance. Is there such a thing?

You might look into hi gain directional wifi dish antennas If the buildings are in line of site.

Motorola makes a couple of products that operate in the public spectrum. The Canopy platform allows you to brodcast a 14 Meg pipe in a Point to Multipoint or back haul configuration in the standard product. There are higher backhauls available (Up to 140 Meg) They also have a HotZone Duo which operates in two differents spectrums allowing you to use one for a backhaul (which frees you from wired infrastructure) and the other for wireless service. Another solution would be a self forming self healing Mesh Network, but I think this is limited to government use only.
