I'm an adult and I still read them! Does anyone know what reading level the Nancy Drew series are? (the original series) It looks like for Jr. High school.

I think 4th grade may like it, but it seems a little young. I was thinking for 11-14 year olds. (5th-8th)

I still read them occasionally, and I am 36. I started reading them in 3rd grade, but I was a voracious and precocious reader. Not as much of a fan of the Case Files and Notebooks, though. I like the originals, warts and all. The new graphic novels are interesting, but I still like the original Nancy.

I would suggest them for fourth to sixth grade. I think they are a little too innocent/cliche for JHS, personally. (JHS to me is grades 7-9) They are long, but certainly not difficult, in vocabulary or complexity.

I'm not sure about the reading level but I'm a high school sophmore and I love them!
