Voyager 1 and 2 both have enough stored energy from the sun to last them another 20 years. this is quite less because compared to the massive lengths and spaces in the universe, if we want the voyagers to reach anywhere extraordinary, their battery should last them something like 50,000 years or something.
voyagers 1 and 2 are both out of our solar system, but they are travelling in different directions. they are both currently in the heliosheath (the area directly outside the solar system) where the influence of the sun wanes and other stellar flares and intergallactic winds attack them. magnetic and gravitational fields go bonkers and the voyagers are still travelling through all this, they must have covered a kilometer in the time its taken me to write this paragraph. NASA still gets messages from voyagers 1 and 2 and will continue to be in touch for another 20 or so years.

Both Voyager 1 and Voyager 2 are still 'alive' and functioning.

As of February 27,2007 the spacecraft distances and velocities are :

Voyager 1 distance from Earth -- 9.5-billion miles
Voyager 1 velocity relative to sun -- 38,609.52 mph

Voyager 2 distance from Earth -- 767.8-million miles
Voyager 2 velocity relative to sun -- 34,802.25 mph

See this website for current positional/velocity information on both Voyagers ==>http://www.heavens-above.com/solar-escape.asp

voyager 1 is now at Voyager 1 was at a distance of 100 AU (approximately 14.96 terameters, 9.3 billion miles or 0.002 light years from the Sun) while voyager 2 is at around 80.5 AU (approximately 12 terameters) from the Sun. Its power should last around 2016-2020 and NASA still recieves data from them. More info on the nasa website below.

I believe they both have exited our solar system. Last I heard, they still were broadcasting a signal.
