Well, her Mom does act the same way she does, and her Mom's her role model too.

First, don't change for her. If you like the stuff she's bashing, don't let it go.

Second, if it's bothering you this much, just tell your friend how you feel. -- I like being your friend and I want us to remain friends, but could you try being a little more positive. --- You might even try asking her if something's bothering her. Sometimes, people act this way for attention or because it's how their parents act.

Be honest with her about how you feel. She is going to have to understand that just because she doesn't like something doesn't give her the right to bash others for liking it. Eventually she'll come to a rude awakening when she realizes that no one really cares what she thinks, and you certainly shouldn't either. Everyone has an opinion, but that doesn't mean you have to go along with it.

Well bring it to her attention and tell her to be more positive and give her examples why she should in reference to her life. How can a negative person get everything they want from life without humility or appreciation, tell her you'd rather be friends but good friends not critical friends. Talk to her seriously about this it can be a downer for you too. You deserve good energy.

Get a spine and stand up for yourself against this girls constant bitching and critisizing. If she dont get it then then dump her. If not she will just continue to be that way....alot of it is because you let her.

unless she can accept the differences it wont work out...if you cant sey how you feel you should find someone quieter who wont try to rule over you like that..
