Hello,

I should be able to answer this question myself with the owners manual but since it got thrown out and I can't seem to find one online.

Anyways I have a 1998 Oldsmobile Cutlass, and there is warning light that is coming on, I think it looks sort of like a sparkplug but im not sure. Its not the low coolant light, brake, low oil, its not the check engine light, or that light that comes on if your car is over heating.

Im not sure what light it is, though it might be the check engine light, but I would assume that the check engine light would have check engine instead of some shape.

Any ideas on what light it might be ? I can't afford to take it to a shop to check, nor do I have the time.

Thankyou.

A little more detail. Since I live in Virginia, I just had the emissions and safety inspections. I would think that since they put in some coolant fluid for me that if they notice something they would have told me.

It might be the transmission light, Ill to see where the transmission fluid goes in at.

No its not the low coolant light, I know which one that one is, since its been on before.

The check engine light on some vehicles is simply a shape that looks like an engine. I have heard it described as a movie projector, spark plug, blob, transmission, etc. Most likely that is your light. It will also be an amber color. I've never seen a transmission light on a car, except one that reads "Trans Temp." I'd be inclined to say it is the check engine light. Some auto parts stores will pull a code for you for free, but don't assume that the code is a thorough diagnosis as it only tells the area of the problem, not the cause.

Without actually seeing the light you are talking about. My best guess would be transmission. Check your tranny fluid.

My guess would be the low coolant light.
