I have a Linksys router that I have been using for a few years. I use cable for my internet that is always on. When I set up my Linksys, I didn't need to put in any user names / passwords etc...just plug it in. Is there a way to just plug in this Airport extreme and have it work without configuring everything?

You may be able to do that with the Airport Extreme, but it's very ineffective. Your network becomes unsecured and vulnerable to attack, and Apple's set-up wizard is very simple, quick, and easy to use. For more on setting up the new Airport Extreme, see http://manuals.info.apple.com/en/AirPortExtreme_802.11n_UserGuide.pdf.

Install Airport Utility for Mac and Windows software, open Airport Utility and follow the on-screen instructions. According to Apple it should take less than 5 minutes.
