I know the baby is fully engaged, had groin pains for 2 days although today has been worse than yesterday, early this morning i lost loads of mucus for the second time. I am 2 cm dilated and this was since 2 weeks ago havent been checked since.

contant toilet trips but without success, all the signs but i was wondering how long now (a rough number please). I am 39 weeks as well.......the groin pain is seriousely painful though its like i can feel her between my legs. i rang a midwife this aftrenoon and all she said to me was take paracetamol and thats it !!!

I will probably get more answers from you all then the experienced midwives, thanks in advance xx

You may have some 'warning' that you're finally going into labor, but usually you'll do something normal like 'go to the bathroom' and realize that you don't need to 'go' but you are going into labor. I'm sorry that you are 'hurting' but just wait ... that 'pain' is going to get 'much worse' and you'll 'hate it' while it's happening, but as soon as that baby is in your arms, you'll forget all about it. That's one of the 'most wonderful' parts of 'having a baby.' I really 'kno\ew' I was 'in labor' and going to have a baby when I wanted to 'get up off the delivery table' and go shopping ... and many mothers say this has happened to them ... or they wanted to 'go home and clean house' ...

Frustating as it is it really is just down to the waiting game - sorry! although it does sound like it will be sooner rather than later. I am so excited for you! Are you in an area where you are free just to take yourself into the hospital and have be given a look over? I know where I live it would be fine with the midwives, and at least they'd actually be able to see you and get a clearer picture of your current state.
Before going into labour I thought I had loads of signs! But it is very hard to be sure - that is until it really does start in earnest! Some people dilate slowly, others very quickly. With my 1st pregnancy I went from 6 cms which took a lot longer than 6 hours, to fully dilated in less than an hour, so there is no text book answer! With my 3rd I had a show 2 weeks before going into labour but nothing like that with the first or second.
I know this does not provide any comfort in the slightest! The only thing you can do is ask your midwife to look at you to put your mind at ease - they are there for you at any stage of pregnancy so make sure you see one. And it's not a case of experience tells you - when I was in hosp waiting for my 3rd to be born then a woman came in thinking she was in labour but it turned out to be a false alarm - and that was with her 5th! So never be scared to ask!
All the best!x

I was 2cm 3days before my son was born, they told me he wouldnt come 4 2weeks as was only 38 weeks. I had felt a ripping feeling down below for days and I saw my midwife foe a rountine check the morning of the day he was born and she told me he was staying put didnt feel like he was on his way! But I knew that the pain id been having for about a week was slow labour. My waters went an hour after seeing the midwife, he was born 6 hrs later.
I woke up that morning and said to my partner im having him today coz im too uncomfortable now! and he was born!

Good luck xx

Before I went into labor, I had light bleeding from my vagina. Also I felt more tired than usual and didn't have an appetite to eat at all. I knew that I was going to have the baby that night because I started having contractions every 10 minutes within an hour. Goodluck to you.

umm if your having pain serious pain and your midwife isnt doing anything about it go to the hospital. they shouldnt just give out drugs like that. NOT A GOOD SIGN.
I've had days were i thought something was going to happen...but nothing yet. im in my 40th week so...it happens when it happens. I'd honestly call the hospital and ask questions. They might have you come in.

ALOT of backache and that i had a unexpected urge to bypass nutrition buying and sparkling the homestead like tremendous nesting haha then in evening i replaced into soo drained yet lower than pressure in mattress, couldnt get comfortable and necessary the lavatory more desirable than time-honored if it replaced into conceivable, then when I were given up contained in the morning i presumed wow my bump has moved then my mucus plug got here away with some extra blood after so I went the health center and that i replaced into already 5/6 cm dilated xx

it sounds like you could be in slow labour, if the pain gets more than you can stand go to the hospital and get checked over, good luck

No-one could possibly know when the baby will come.

Every single pregnancy is different.
