Having pasta for tea. Just wondering which of my kitchen implements will use the least amount of carbon and be the 'greenest' method.

Kettle or Saucepan?

By 'equivalent' read capacity/volume terms.

kettle is greenest. boiling water in a saucepan is less efficient becuase it's open to the atmosphere. heat that could be used to raise the water's temperature to boil is being lost, by convection, to the air. therefore, it will take longer to boil using more energy.
