i would prefer no one under the age of 25 to answer this as i have noticed most young people think every horror movie out is "GREAT!!" old or new movies...whichever. i'm a huge fan of silent films and older black and white films - as well as new movies too!

I like the original "Salems Lot" (not the remake), Candyman, The original Amityville Horror, god any old vampire movies. If you like scary slasher films that arent exactly "horror" try "Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer". I watched these movies when I was younger, but for some reason when you watch them now they arent as scary. ever notice that? I'm almost 26 by the way. I dont enjoy any new horror movies. Well, except for the Saw series, but again, thats more of a slasher film, not a horror movie.

Hannibal rising was very good and scary mostly creepy and not too much blood. It's not a "slasher" film. It explains how Hannibal Lector was like he was. I am 49 by the way. I used to like the blood and guts but, grew tired of that after Friday the 13th part 67. LOL

When a Stranger Calls (the original) scared the hoooey out of me!! I think it was made in the late 70's or early 80's. I've seen a lot of horror movies and this one remains the scariest to me.
