I have a lot of homwerok, but I just can't be bothered to do it. I can come home from school with the idea in mind that I am going to finish this, and start that, but I never get round to doing it, I just end up getting side tracked, and I can always seem to think of something else I could be doing. What can I do to motivate myself?

Im fine with the stuff off the computer, but I get a lot of stuff like research, and ICT coursework for GCSE that I need to do on a computer, there are no libraries round, and the schol one is hardly good enough for the research i know i can get if i try.

Find a friend who is good at the things that you aren't subject-wise, and get together. You can help each other with the subjects you dislike.
Figure out what sidetracks you most easily and get it out of the picture. Watching TV? Sit in a different room. Reading a book? Move your books out of the room. Sit in the bathroom to do your homework if you need to.
Talk to your family about the importance of schoolwork. See if you have any relatives that took the low road and never did their work, and see where they ended up.
Get a buddy and work out a rewards system. For every thing you complete, you both go to a movie, or to a park, or whatever. For everything you DON'T finish, punish yourself (no dessert, no date, etc.) Try to have the discipline to reward yourself for good things, and punish yourself for slacking.
Good luck. I had a hard time doing work, too. I still have trouble doing my work sometimes (I work from home) but it's worth it. It'll work out. You just have to pick out what your weaknesses are and stengthen them accordingly.

i have that problem all of the time!!
id suggest that you sit at the table without the tv on. have some background noise if it helps, and set yourself half an hour to start with for doing the work.
after half n hour have a break..go get a drink, go to the toilet, get a snack, thtl take your mind off of it for a bit.
then come back to it 5 mins later.. do another bit.. then it wont seem like such a long process.
then reward yourself with time on the computer or in front of the tv!

I can seriously sympathise!
Set yourself a target and a reward. I had loadz to do over 1/2 term and just couldnt bring myself to do it.
Set myself 3 hours work and as a reward got a Chinese take away! Well worth it, got loadz this weekend too, so getting a bottle of wine as a reward.
Internet should help your research if your patient

If you've lost track of where you are with your homework then it will start to overwhelm you. First you need to get yourself organised, if you're not using an homework diary, then set one up. Have a think about why you're avoiding your homework, is there one project causing a mental block? BBC Jam has some useful tools to help with creative thinking. https://jam.bbc.co.uk

Don't know how old you are. We have a rule for our 7th grader. No phone - no computer - no television - no nothin' - until the homework is done.
If you don't have parents to enforce rules - then you'll have to enforce them on yourself.
Good study habits are the beginning of a good life.
People with good study habits get good grades. People with good grades go to college. People with college educations make more money. People with more money can afford _______________ (fill in the blank.)
Whatever you filled in the blank with - should be your motivation.
Good luck!

it is not so much motivation as organisation, even at work you have things you know you have to do, organising your time to get them done and out of the way is often the only way to get them completed! dont allow yourself to be distracted, you are simply avoiding your responsibilites, take control of your learning and remiond yourself of why success is important!
