It Is From My Great Great Grandmother. It is very old, but in good condition. Its cloths are made of felt, and its face is hand painted. I also have a Jack and Jill set, Hancel and Gretel, Alice and The White Rabbit, The Baker Man, and Pinnoccio. (All Are The Same Type Of Dolls) Thanks for any help you can give. :) :) :) :) :) :) :)

There are many factors that would go into determining the worth of an item of this type including age, manufacturer, condition, whether it is in its original clothing, etc.

Your best bet to get a fair appraisal would be to visit an antique dealer that specializes in old toys. You may also want to check out your local library as they may have some books on antique toys and the value thereof.

scarlet womans answer wont Help at all, Theres nothing Rascist in collecting Black Dolls ,I to Have an early one ,I absolutly Love it ,I am part Maori German English and have no Problems with Racisim after all my family are both Black and white and at some stage in our History Fought each other and at some time even Cooked each other up and served them for dinner .Good luck with your enquireys and once you Know let me Know to please.I do no the Steif black sambo dolls made in germany before the war are worth 10s of thousands and rightly so ,they have a button in the right ear look for that and a tab saying Steif .Hope this helps

Have you tried searching ebay for similar items? Another idea is to take it to an antique doll dealer. You can find one in the yellow pages.
