I've known this for about a year and I don't know what to do about it. We are both guys and I'm gay but he is straight. Well, he says he is but he has never actually checked out a girl...Should I tell him I am gay and ask him to be my boyfriend?

if thats how you feel about yourself to him and after a year...your feelings should be true?

life is such torture with such problems? but sometimes its better to be blunt and straight forward and old fashioned by juts asking or telling him.

he'll understand if he's a true friend. either he'll reject you or just remain friends.

good luck.

That could be a shocker to try to take all that in at once. I would personally just tell him your gay and see how that goes. If he is a friend, he will accept you no matter what. Then I'd let a little more time go by before I come out and tell him you are in love with him. He may start treating you different b/c of your sexual orientation and you might find you aren't so in love with him anymore. But if your friendship grows b/c of this, then I would definately tell him. The worse he could say is no.

Sure why not you can always make new friends if that doesn't go over well. Try taking it slow and start by coming out to him. If he is a friend and you want to keep him as a friend even if he is straight then this would be the best approach. Let him adjust to you being gay before you try to make him your boyfriend. Give him some time.

been there, done that. the only way you'll ever know is to
express your feelings. Instead of asking yes/no questions
like "Wanna be my BF?" why not ask open-ended questions
as you share your feelings. Such as "I really like you and
admire you. I really enjoy and value our friendship.
How would you feel about me if I was gay?"

Let him respond, and if positive, confirm you are, and
ask him how he feels about you. Keep asking open ended
questions that encourage him to talk and share, not just
yes/no/maybe stuff.

Good luck and hope it goes well. There is a magic word if he
isn't into you or gayness..."Next!" Move on to someone/something else!

You could tell him about being gay, but not with the expectation that he will be your boyfriend. Don't do anything to compromise your friendship unless you receive signals from him. Even if he is gay, he may not like you in that way; so don't do anything impulsive. Good luck.

Coming out and asking him to be your boyfriend all in the same day will probably scare the crap out of him. Especially if he hasn't come to terms with his own sexuality yet. I'd come out first, check out his response and take it slow...until he comes out, asking him out really isn't a good idea...your sexuality will probably scare him enough if he is that far back in the closet.

Look, either he's gay and he's not interested, or he's straight and he just doesn't swing that way. Life's to short to get caught up obsessing over someone you can't have or who just doesn't want you. Get over these one-way-feelings you have for him and find someone who is deserving of, and will reciprocate your affection for him.

Ask him. If he's not interested you might lose a friend (and what kind of a friend is that anyway) but if he is...
