If you have software, just install the disk. Free ones, such as AVG, are also available.

If you want to purchase one, try McAfee or Norton.
To get trials, visit SYmantec for Norton trials.

I notice that people have mainly covered your question. The thing that hasnt been covered is that if your computer already has an anti virus program on and you are going to be putting on a different program... such as if you already have Norton and you are going to install McAfee as the new one... you will need to remove the previous one. Otherwise it can cause serious conflicts in your computer and may impede your anti-virus software from working propertly.

Purchase or download an antivirus. If you purchase one, put the disk in the drive and it should start the installation, or click start > run D:\setup (If D is the drive letter of your CDROM drive). If you download one, double click on the file you downloaded and the installation will begin.

I like AVG. It's free at: http://free.grisoft.com/softw/70free/setup/avg75free_446a965.exe
