There is no telescope available today that is powerful enough (has the angular resoultion) to see the American flags on the moon.

The Hubble Telescope is our best, most sensitive telescope, and it can only resolve objects about the size of a football field on the moon (the American Flag is what, about a 3' x 5' flag? No way the Hubble will see that!). One pixel on the CCD cameras of the Hubble covers an area about 20 meters in diameter -- so even the bases of the LEMs are too small to be resolved.

If you'll just take notice of who is disputing our moon landings, you'll find that these are people who live under bridges and collect aluminum cans for a living. The moon astronauts left something a little easier to see than a flag. They left a prism array that will reflect laser light back to the earth so that they can accurately measure the distance to the moon. I would bet that with a really good telescope and a very powerful laser, you could see a reflection from this prism array.

One of the other points that are made that ignorant people think prove that the moon landings was a hoax, really shows the idiocy of such a notion.

Anyone who has just fooled around with photography on a most basic level knows that if you flooded your yard with light and then thought you could go out into that yard with a movie camera and think you are going to see stars in your shots, you will be sadly disappointed.

Yet this is one of the stupid arguments that these ignorameouses use to support their notion.

We went to the moon. Nobody even now in the 21st century could get a hoax movie into advanced computer systems that could fool hundreds of intelligent, experienced controllers for years and years.

In all this stupid hoax portrayal, nobody has ever offered an explanation of how that would be possible. One little hitch in the simulation would be picked up by the controllers in seconds. Apollo landings went on for three years.

For God's sake lets get real here. We are sick of this nonsense.

If you have an extremely powerful telescope, prolly not....sorry to say, but they landed in one of the craters there on the moon, so the shadows would probably make it very difficult to see. Tell your friend shes an idiot, show her pictures from NASA's website, and ask an astronomy teacher. We landed on the moon, its one of the greatest things any person has done, and we are going beyond the moon now. It doesnt matter if she doesnt believe it, it happened and will again.

It cannot be seen from a telescope. There is a HUGE debate that the whole moon landing was staged. I'm not saying the rumor is true, but it is certainly possible that it was staged.

I have faith that we really landed on the moon.

I am getting very, viery tired of this (not that it matters to the rest of you).

Man landed on the moon in July of 1969 and went back 5 other times.
