yes -- I get all smug but then it inevitably tells me I spelled something really simple (like cat) incorrectly and I feel meek again.

Not any more...I've seen 'spell check' OK some seriously mis-spelled words. And it tends to poop out after about three paragraphs.
Yeah, of course I use it, but I don't RELY on it 100%, not when it is so easy to Google the Oxford English Dictionary.
Of course, the OED expects me to spell it correctly, & is at a loss sometimes when I don't...which is when I need it most. Of course.

right here the voice of the poet describes a quandary of determination. He has left at the back of an enticing existence he concept he as quickly as needed yet now realises his mistake. On his homeward journey he stands and ponders his options. He could the two proceed to leave at the back of the captivating process exhilaration or proceed to pass homeward to the secure and homely life he as quickly as left at the back of. He fears his option to pass returned may well be a mistake and he won't have the skill to realize all he as quickly as enjoyed. He concerns his previous determination will not be able to be forgiven by skill of the lass he abandoned and who as quickly as shared his sunlight-filled days. He vainly needs he would have his time as quickly as extra, so he would stay placed and not be lured away by skill of magnificent lights fixtures and short lived thrills. that's a poem with many similarities in historic previous. that's a quandary lived returned and returned. i come across a number of the determination of words a splash jarring and discordant. "One international is going open as yet another shuts" has a damaging and comfortable use of the word "is going" . It jars. i'd delete it. "yet age and glory fades with novelty" could use the word fade not fades. Verb project settlement is misguided. "lights fixtures can dim and fervour do fade out" returned has the comfortable use of do...it is going to examine extra effective with does and could help guard your use of annoying. "alongside the milestones I certainly have as quickly as did pass", have jars right here and could be deleted. The rhyme between pass and lass jars. Did i like the poem? sure, I specifically did relish the examine.
