I dont think they will but on the other hand it would not be a massive shock if they did.

If Iran was attacked by the US, then should some Arab states join in with or be supportive of the US, Iran may believe it to be in their tactical interests to attack Israel. By doing this and drawing Israel into the war, they would reduce the amount of Arabs who would be willing to fight with the US, since many Arabs wouldn't fight alongside Israel. In the Gulf War, Saddam Hussein attacked Israel, and the US had to stop Israel fighting back so that the coalition with Arabs could survive. Attacking Israel would also destabilise any Arab nation ruled by a regime which supported the US, and Iran may believe it could benefit from doing that. Muslims from around the world can be gathered to fight a war. It's happened in Afghanistan, Iraq, Indonesia, Somalia etc. Iran would want to make use of such tactics. I don't believe there would be peace without Israel in the Middle East, even excluding Iran and Iraq. Many people in Lebanon dislike Syria, the Kurds want an independent state which stretches into Turkey, Palestinians may continue to fight each other and some Arab governments may want to send Palestinians to what would then be Palestine too. This may create friction. Arabs were fighting each other for centuries before Israel was reestablished, so Israel's removal probably wouldn't stop them.

Iran won't attack anyone. They still don't have a nuclear weapon and its military couldn't handle the initial bombing attack of the U.S. or Israel. If they attacked Israel the world would respond and Iran would be demolished. The only way Iran can put up a fight would be similar to Iraq with extremist who blow themselves up. It's all coming down to money, and Iran has none, and they will cave to international pressure just like North Korea. Money talks, even in war!

It is v.hard to say as this predicament has only been felt back in the cold war with 2 opposing states having Nuclear Weapons but being of the same stature. This time Iran is a lot smaller than their enemy, they have nothing to lose, they've lost already in the long run, so to them retaliating to America's threat would defiantly happen in the form of using their most powerful weapons. Hence the Nukes & anyone who wants it. It is a serious business & America r alone on this one. Wonder why the UK r moving out & concentrating on the Herion / Terrorist threats. Welcome back Palistine might be an option of reality.

If I was Iranian which I,m not, I would wonder why its ok for Israel to have nuclear weapons but not Iran and also why the country with the most nuclear weapons in the world should dictate who can have them and who cant.

Iran is already attacking Israel by backing their enemies there.I dont understand why you think Israel is the reason for conflict. I thought it was Irans nuclear program. Israel is one stated target but if they got away with that Im sure they have others lined up Iran has very few friends especially in the arab world .

Israel is NOT the problem it is Iran. Iran would become a vacation spot if the US and Israel decides to attack.

It will be Israel that will attack Iran rather than allow them to become nuclear capable. It was reported on the BBC website that they have already sought US clearance to overfly Iraq for that purpose. Unfortunately they would have little choice.

Anyone starting a war cannot control the outcome. The results are always worse than anticipated. Violence isn't the answer. It's the problem.
