If hair looks "healthy & glowing" it's only because it has the right amount of greasy stuff on it, just like a nice shiny car.

Hair is dead, but it is made up of proteins. It's roots are made up living cells, which control the texture of hair. If the roots are well nourished, it shows on the hair, but if they are left without oil or anything, they dry up and the hair becomes coarse and unmanageable. Not a pretty sight.

by taking care of it, you are stripping the buildup that hair can accumulate. And usually adding protein or other variants to fill in "pot hole's" in each strand.
by not taking care of IE. heat damage, bad product, etc... you basically are letting product accumulate making hair look dull or frizzy. heat damage breaks hair leaving fly aways. that's why you need good product to fill it in like i said before!

Healty is a joke. It is dead, right? The rest is just about the same as waxing your old VW Bug.
