debt collectors put £20 on to your bank account debt every letter they send they think they can do this they cant i am contra charging them for £20 each letter i have sent and £20 for each phone call i make to them i think we should all contra charge them to get back our money

Or you could just pay your debts on time, according to the agreement. Why should they have to send letters to remind you to pay?

I agree - that is just exorbitant. Paper, ink and a stamp does not amount to £20. It is ridiculous. I wish you all the best with this. I hope you get your money back for every letter you've written and every phone call you've made.

Companies waste so much money sending you junk mail through the post that you are overloaded and the one important mail that is of some purpose costs you. It does not make any sense. The same company probably send junk mail to household country-wide maybe several times in a week - its ridiculous! Good luck and all the best!

According to UK law, a charge must reflect the true cost of the loss. £20 for sending a photocopied letter to you sounds like just another example of profit making. You are fully within your rights to claim these charges back.
