I recently purchased bare minerals and was wondering about other peoples experiences with the product. Any info is greatly appreciated, i.e. allergic reactions, bad coverage, good coverage, too cakey.
Thank you.

my wife uses it and swears by it.
she said it is the best make-up she has ever used.
not heavy, good for her skin, excellent cover up, and no reactions.
hope this helps.

I've been using Bare Minerals for about 2 years now and plan to stick with it! It doesn't feel like I'm wearing foundation. I've even had a few people surprised when I said I was wearing makeup- they commented on how good my skin looked. I have to admit that I need a separate concealer for under my eyes - the minerals don't provide enough coverage there. (even after following their guidelines I wasn't happy, so I buy that thru another brand.) I also have to re-apply if I'm going out after work- though just a touch-up. I also like the other products thru this line- they have the only mascara I like. I did NOT buy through the informercial though- I read too many complaints aboiut customer service and didn't want "locked" into a club- I buy from mainly and sometimes.

Make sure you apply it like it recommends, with the swirl, tap, buff method. It gives great coverage, it makes the skin look almost airbrushed. It may take a few applications to make it look the best, the first time I used it, I used way too much and it did look kinda cakey. A little goes a long way, so don't go overboard. All I use is the foundation and mineral veil, I don't know if you're planning on using the warmth, but I personally could never make it look natural. The foundation feels very light on your skin, but covers well. My blemishes practically disappear when I put foundation over them. Again, I warn you, it's all in the application. I think you will really like it and give it a few more tries if it doesn't look right the first time.

I have mild acne and some acne scarring. I have used everything and bare minerals is definitely the way to go. I hope you bought the starter kit because the coverage of this cosmetic line is absolutely dependent on two things:
1) applying it correctly
2) Using the correct brush for a particular application
If you don't do these two things, then will not get the full benefits of this cosmetic line
You can also go to a store they sell it at and ask someone how to apply it, that's what I did
good luck!!

make sure you have the brush that's intended to be used with the makeup, and it should go on great. I've never heard of an allergic reaction. Some people definitely overapply it though. I much prefer Jane Iredale cosmetics to bare minerals.

I really did not care for it. It is very light and would be a good make up for minimum coverage, I on the other hand have acne scars, it does nothing for covering scars/blemishes. If you already have a fair complexion and just want a nice healthy glow it is great, but if your skin is less then perfect, it's useless.

The coverage is better than I thought it would be. I don't use it every day because I have dry skin and the minerals make-up doesn't impart moisture to the skin.

Coverage can be as light or heavy as you want it to be, and it can be 'cakey' if you overdo it, just as anything else. It does make some people itch, though, I think it's the bismuth, but most don't have that problem. I love it, and am glad I found it.
