If you have some elmers glue, just thin it down with water.

Mod Podge is basically just a permanent "white glue," like Elmer's GlueAll, thinned with water till it's easily brushable. (Royal Coat, also by Plaid, is another brand which is supposed to be better).

Other clear-drying acrylics can be used as decoupage mediums too, and will also act as both an adhesive and a sealer (for example, acrylic "mediums" intended for acrylic paint ...acrylic-based craft "varnishes"...clear acrylic wood finishes (like polyurethane), etc.

There's more info on

(... click on the subcategory called DECOUPAGE...)

And lots of sites here on making your own decoupage medium and using it:

Just use elmers or some kind of white glue. Spread it on with a brush. That's it!

It is only clear acrylic - do you have any acrylic floor polish/wax?
