I am 8 weeks pregnant with twins. My husband and I already have a 2 1/2 year old! We are so excited but REALLY nervous. We really thought we pretty much knew everything about pregnancy. I went for my second u/s yesterday. The heart rates were good-145 and 162. My dr. said that was encouraging. She was a little concerned about the sizes of the babies. One is measuring 8w2days and the other is 7w1d. She said that later on in the pregnancy-this would cause for alarm, but she's not sure if it's really a big deal right now. So she has referred me to an at-risk specialist. They decided not to see me until I am 16 weeks. So I am thinking it's not too big of an emergency. I am really scared though--and concerned. I know that I will worry the whole time, but I was wondering if anyone else has had twins with measurements like these at 8 weeks and what your dr. said.... Thanks!

First of all our your twins identical? If they are this is more of a concern because of twin to twin transfusion. When one twin is taking nutrients from the other one. Look it up online. If they are fraternal it isn't as big of a deal. I have fraternal and my son started out bigger but when I gave birth at 38 weeks they were 6lbs 7oz (her) and 6 lbs 13oz (him) Good luck with the twins I hope all goes well for you.

I had twins 7 yrs ago and all I can say is get ready. This will be the best but strangest preg. You will hear all kinda things. I was told from about 28 weeks that I would be having huge kids and one would be a girl. At 34 weeks, I gave birth to two healthy boys and they weighed 4/10 and 5/1. BUT think of it that is 10 lbs of baby!If you need anything else, just let me know!!

You'll be fine.....Twins are generally smaller than single born babies.
