I see very high levels of unsuccess in schools and associated indiscipline and violence.
The governments are spending more and more money with Psychologists and Psychiatrists in schools in the last 25 years, though the problems are increasing year after year. Do you believe that more Psychologists and more Psychiatrists are THE RIGHT SOLUTION for the problems in our schools?
If they are THE Solution, why then do we have more and more problems in our schools?

Let's say as an example that one has little money left and no job. The Solution would be getting a job. If you have a teeth problem you go to the dentist.
This means that we know that the right solution makes a reach in solving the Problem...

I learned that rebelion turns into indiscipline and later in violence. By rebelion I mean the unwillingness of kids to go to school. Now, why they don't want to go to school? Because they do not know what for. They do not know why is it necessary to go LEARNING. They have a misunderstood regarding the school. And teachers are not trained to identify these misunderstoods. So, parents make them to g to school and they cannot follow this or that subject... Here begins the revolt, the counter-willingness. This means that the problem is not a Psychological one. Is a question of understanding.

The problem is that several decades ago, people began to use psychology improperly. Instead of looking for a way to stop doing something wrong, psycology began to be used as an excuse for the behavior. Parents, these days, are not ready to believe that their child may just need more discipline from them. It is easier for them to believe that the problem is beyond their control by giving it a diagnosis. Then it is more like some disease. If the kid is a brat we think pooly of his parents. We wouldn't think the less of a family if the child is sick. So it is much easier to believe that he had a psychological problem than to believe that they are doing a poor job as parents.
So you are 100% correct. They are not looking for real solutions in our schools. They are looking for an easy way out.

The problem is a combination of parents and teachers and the adminstration of the schools. The use of psycologists and psychiatrists in the school system can be a good thing. The problem is, there's not enough time in the world to work with all the children that need help. There are so many that come from bad enviroments and don't want to come forward for counseling. By the time the child is referred to the psycologist, they already have shut down and it would take alot of time and money to get them to talk and find out what's going on. They school systems only use these professionals to cover themselves for lawsuits. They say "See, it wasn't our fault that the child did this. We had these counselors that the child could have come to." When the whole time there were all the signs that this was coming. If counselors would get children to police themselves and to turn in troubled kids, maybe then, we would have less troubles in the schools. It takes a village to raise a child and it takes even the children to help out too.

Some kids don't want to go to school because they are bullied! They don't have a strong support at home. I wish that there was someone for me to talk to when I was in school and bullied! I think that sometimes the solution is seeing a Therapist! Kids can be very cruel and make live downright miserable.I believe we have more problems due to violent rap lyrics, violence in movies and T.V., video games are very violent. Kids have become insensitive to it. It is not the fault of the Therapist or the Psychiatrists!

I think it is more then that.
Kids now days are restless.
They want more out of school then just learning out of a text book and a teacher scribbling on the chalk board, yapping away.. They want more then that.
I think that they should implement on the job training skills in school.
for example.
. Kids learning from a book vs. A kid learning the real life event. let say someone has a dream to become an archaeologist. but all they have ever had the chance to even learn anything about that subject is from the library and geting a book and reading it.
Well thats all fine as far as researching what it is all about. but .. wouldn't a kid learn the skills better and more efficiently if he were actually out in the field finding and tracing aritifactts for real? or say,
someone wants to be an airline pilot.
Do you think that they can learn those skills out of a book?
I think not.
They are bored with 15 years of text books and teachers yapping at them. Give them real life skills at school..
I bet they would have major change in attitude and their s.a. t. scores would be above average.
their would be less violence, and more understanding of the concepts of what it takes to get along in society,
They would be more responsible and willing to go to school.. Don't ya think? I
do.
. I remember what it was like, and I wanted more live learning, no more books.

Maybe psychiatrists are like lawyers, they create a market for themselves, where really without them people would get along just fine.
I think we have more problems in schools (if we actually do) because we are more open and talk about issues that effect us, our children are not afraid to say what they think anymore.
At one time most bad behaviour was confined behind closed doors now it's just spills out on the street, creating a general lack of respect, adults don't respect children and children don't respect adults.

The problem begins at home with the parents. All the professionals in the world cannot undo what is happening or not happening there. It is unfair to expect the education system to raise our children to be responsible sensible adults. Parents these days are not as involved as they used to be - it happens at all economic levels.

Not necessarily. Most of them are over schooled idiots and make more problems than they fix. Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar, after all.

What we need is common sense and there's not much of it about. Remember the "experts" earn loads of money creating this havoc.
