Where can i find information concerning the specs of a chevy rear axle?

Axle is from an 84 chevy subarban, found these codes stamped on it: 99E GM7 3896839 i am hoping it is a posi, but if you could point me towards a website that could decode it and tell me what ratio it has it would be great. thank you.

Chilton's books makes all kinds of manuals for such things.

If it is posi then it uses a special posi oil as it has a clutching system in it, and it will be, is tagged-marked for that
