I had my belly button pierced three years ago. Some tips, Drink or have soda with you, eat before you go in. The two mane defenses against passing out are eating and having sugar in you. and try not to tense up. if you have the right mind set navel piercings really don't hurt to badly. GET IT DONE BY A PROFESSIONAL ! If you have an unsterilized needle you are screwed and yes it will hurt! Go to some place you trust (its not a bad idea to ask around to other people who have it done where they got it) good luck and really it dose not hurt more than a 2 (out of ten). If you go in thinking that it will then guess what ...it will . Good luck! Niki

I got my belly button pierced when i was 15. I thought it hurt about a 6 on a scale of 1-10. Although it was really awesome, it never fully healed and i had to take it out. Bummer!!

Having it pierced is probably about a 3-4, then once done, it is sore like having your ear pierced for a week or two. Expect it to get infected and clean it at least twice daily. Once it is completely healed, it will not get infected again.

With 1 being less painful and 10 being more painful, I'd have to rate my experience a 3. It hurt only for a second when they pierced it. While it was healing, I was only really aware of it being sore when I bumped against something.

Having got it done by an experienced person who trained me to breathe, warned me of the needle coming, made it quick, and did it smoothe - I give it a 2 at most. I'm a male, and I'm not tolerant of pain, so I think 2 is an honest answer. I passed out when my nipple was pierced - that really hurts!

It's different for everyone. I didn't feel a thing when it was actually done, I had so much adrenaline pumping in my system. It didn't start hurting til later on in the day. But even then, it didn't hurt too much. You just need to be careful not to bump it or get it caught on anything.

The actual piercing didnt hurt me, it was afterward when I had to clean it and move it up and down. that hurt really bad for the first few days
If you have a good piercer, they will tell you when to breathe in/out and such. it only takes like a few seconds to pierce and put the ring in.
