beause whaen your young it's a childhood dream of ghetto kids to get out and make money. basketballs are cheap. football pads arn't.
and NFL has gangsters but not as many.
the NBA was better before the hip hop style. That's why they're all skipping college to get out and make money and be famous instead of bettering their skills. and creating not good players.
Micheal jordon, Magic, The Bird, all those other greats were not thugs,gangsters, or hip hoppers. now all the ghetto kids ruin the game with mediocore talent and wasting team's money.
only Kobe, KG, T-mac, and LeBron can call themselves worthy of skipping out of the NCAA.
Wade and Melo went to college. melo won a championship. and wade learned the importance of money, knowledge, and schooling. LeBron is a senior in college now but isn't even taking classes. how smart is he? he's dumb as a doornail. can't even count his paycheck cuz he skipped out.

i'll admit B-ball does but so does Football ok its just that football isn't dominated by a certian type of players who share the same attributes and the reason why The NBA attracts Hip-Hop thugs is cuz most kids grow up in bad communities or its the music can be played during a B-ball game and it wont sound bad. Imagine having death-metal played during a basketball game, i'm pretty sure it would detract alot of fans of the NBA

It's not just the NBA that has a bunch of thugs running around. The NFL does as well. Michael Vick, Adam PacMan Jones, certain Bengal players just to give you an idea.

not sure about the word "thug types"...but NFLplayers dabble in HipHop just as much as NBA players, NFL analysts/media do a better job of focusing on the game itself and problems on the field...unless you're a Bengals player, but some of those that got into trouble didn't even fit the "thug" stereotype....I believe on of them was "white".

They Both have many thugs. The problem is that people think it is cool to be stupid. They are all cookie cutters and they see thugs on T.V so that is the cool way to act!

It has to do with the availablitly of basketball and also the dream that many young black men hold of getting out of poverty and being a rich basketball player. You need more than just a ball to play and train for football as well.

have you seen the people that some of these players hang around with?
oh, and if you're referring to the incident in Las Vegas during all star weekend, the person who instigated the entire thing is in fact, an NFL player.
