I was 18 when i got my belly button pierced and now i am 22 and still have it, i love it! Some places if you are under 18 there has to be a adult with you when you want to get it done! The infection part is, well it will get infected if not washed! I used Dial Antibacterial hand soap to wash my belly button after for about two weeks morning and night, it helped it heal faster! The part about it hurting is that is hurts alittle when the needle go's though, and it will be tender and sore for about a week and half or so!!! But if you get it done you will probably love it cause there are so many cute belly button rings you can buy, that is my favorite part about it!!! I hope i could of been some help to you!!!

hey there I have may friends that do piercings so yea Ill let in on some tips. First If you are under 18 you usually have to have a parent sine even if its ear piercings, be aware that afterwards you need to clean it every day for about a month (they should tell you that and what to use). GET IT DONE BY A PROFESSIONAL! i cant stress that enough, please don't have a friend with a needle do it. for a naval piercing you have to have a special needle and a professional who knows what they are doing. Okay so once you have mulled all of this over and are ready to go in i have some tips for prep before going in. eat a full meal right before going in and have a sugar soda when you go in. Try not to tense up. The main factors for passing out while getting a piercing are not having any food in your system and not having sugar, and tensing so blood doesn't flow to your brain. If you make sure to attempt these it really doesn't hurt. Most of the pain in piercings is all in the head. the best tip i think of pain is go somewhere you trust and dot tense up or lock our knees. good luck, and really its not bad at all. Niki

It is not to painful when done but is quite painful while healing. You must be 18 or have a parents permission. Some states require parents sign in person and both minor and Parent show proof of Identification. There is always a risk of infection when a foreign object is places in the body so if you have sensitive ears and have to wear Hypo-allergic earrings then expect to have the same problems with belly ring. Also remember once done you will always have a hole or scar so think about it and be sure 15 years down the road you won't be REALLY SORRY you had it done.

It doesn't really hurt that bad. Depends on your pain tolerance. It feels like a pinch. It hurts the most after, during the healing process, like, if you get it hung on clothing or anything. But just follow the instructions from the person who pierced you as far as cleaning it goes. And choose where you go carefully. Most places are clean and sterile. I'm pretty sure you have to be 18 to get it done without a parents signature. Atleast, I had to wait until I was 18.

Out of all the piercings you could get on your body, piercing your belly button is the easiest and not very painful. The piecing itself doesn't hurt. What kind of bothers a person, is the look of the instrument they use, to stop the blood flow when they do it. It takes seconds. Just keep it clean with witch hazel or peroxide.

I got mine done just before I turned 15.
the thing they warned me about is since i was young, it could end up moving up as I got older since I wasnt done growing. but it never did that.
It doesnt hurt too much, when they put the ring in hurt more than the actual piercing for me.
Make sure the place you goto uses sterile equipment ie. watch them take it out of the bags so you know its never been used before.
take very good care of the piercing and listen to how they tell you to clean it. I think its 3 times a day with the cleaner they give you.
Wear lower cut pants and a belt is not a good idea.
Be careful not to bump against anything, it hurts really bad!
Dont change the ring before the healing time, and they advised me to go back for the first time I changed it so they could see if it healed properly.

I got it done 8 years ago at 18. it didnt hurt, very quick just dont clean it with soap. take a shower and move the ring up and down slowly as the clean water runs on it. DONT TAKE OUT THE RING they put in. healing is painless if no tugging and pulling for a few weeks. might have a little odor as it heals. I think my second ear peirce hurt more.

You can't have babies with me cos piercings make me feel sick especially the nose where they look like bogeys that shouldn't be there.
I find tattoos ugly too but you'll find out when its too late to have second thoughts.
I am biased because I love the unblemished beauty of a woman's skin which needs nothing added but the sparkle from their eye!
I implore you don't have it done just to be one of the crowd you are not a clone!
Why not set your own standards wear latex instead, far sexier and easy to remove, but use plenty of talk to put it on!

You have to sleep on your back for a number of weeks, you can't sleep on your stomach or sideways (cuz you might roll and get it caught).
You can't really wear any pants either. Skirts are better.
You can clean it naturally with salt and water, or with with a givin cleaner.
It doesn't really hurt at all, just don't look at it or think about it. It may hurt if you stress, but it's more a pinch if it's done quickly.
