I need it for a report im doing in school

Culinary Arts School If you check on line try doing a search of culinary arts schools. There are different chefs and chef levels .....sous chefs, pastry chefs.etc etc Check also with the NY School of culinary arts. You can even find some local colleges have these programs.

There are 2 ways that you can do it. You can take a culinary course and then go on to do an apprentiship to get all the hours you need to write the Red Seal test.

OR,

You can simply start working in a restaurant. Learn as much as you can, do an apprentiship and when you have enough hours, go write the Red Seal test.

School really isn't need. I know quite a few people who dropped out of culinary programs and just went to work in a restaurant. You work your way from the bottom up to the top.

A degree from a culinary arts school is probably the most highly respected. You can work your way up in restaurants, however that is a long process and if for some reason you are terminated you may lose the hours you have accumulated.
