This is a 93 Accord (Manual transmission) that I don't plan on keeping much longer, but I just want an idea of what might be wrong here. When I brake coming off the freeway, I have to do it very gradually or the brake and steering wheel seem to vibrate. I don't know if I'm explaining this the best way, but let's see what you all have to say...

As per the common concensus warped brake rotors but probably because someone overtightened them the last time you had your wheels removed and re-installed, too much torque on the air wrench.

Next time ask the garage and/or shop to torque your wheels on using a proper torque wrench. Specs' available at a dealer (usually around 95 lbs torque - but check!)

When was the last brake job? That kind of vibration is caused by warped brake rotors. With the new info you provided it is still the front rotors in my book. If it was something else it would not just happen when you were braking from high speed.

If the rotors were warped, it would feel like the brakes were grabbing and releasing again and again and again. I don't think your problem is warped brake rotors. (especially since you recently had brake work done).

I think your problem is a bad strut bushing or control arm bushing.

Take your car to an independent alignment shop. Preferably one run by an old guy who's been around the block a couple times.

Because auto repair shops are reputed to be among the most dishonest in the world, it wouldn't hurt to check the better business bureau or the Bureau of Automotive Repair to see how many complaints have been lodged against the shop.

An honest and competent front end shop is like gold. Good luck.

It depends on how serious the vibration is. A little vibration is normal, since you car has anti-lock brakes - they work by opening and closing very fast to keep the wheels on the car from locking up and going into a skid.

If the vibration is more pronounced, you may need to take the car to a mechanic and get a quote on doing some work to your suspension and steering since it sounds like it may be worn out. Old tires can make it seem worn out too.

Your rotors need replaced. They are a metal circle which the brake pad presses on to stop the car.
