The University of Akron in Akron Ohio has a very good chemical engineering program , especially if you are interested in studying polymers . And their tuition rates are among the lowest also .

FIU Florida International University is a great university and very affordable. It is located in the hub of Miami, Florida and it has a great college atmosphere. They have an excellent engineering school there.

I would encourage you to look at all universities and first see if the current projects & courses are of interest to you especially if you are looking for a lower or middle tier university. Then shortlist the ones that you are interested in and compare the expenses.
