My daughter was 8 pounds when she was born. We thought she would be a big baby gorwing up too. But when we took her for her 6 month check -up she only weighed 15 pounds and 6 ounces. Is that too less. Also she falls between the 25th and 50th percential. Can someone please explain that to me. I know if she falls under the 25th percentile it means she weighs more than 25% of babies. But its just confusing as she falls between 25th and 50th percentile. Also do baby boys weigh more than baby girls. As one of my friends little boy who is 4 months old already weighs 16 pounds (more than my 6 month old). So I'm just worried.

You are worrying too much. The pediatrician would have expressed concern if there should be. My daughter weighed in the 85th percentile for many years, then she got a little height and it dropped. My grandson has been around 70th-85th percentile, because he is short, losing some of the chubby since he started walking. The doctor has never been concerned. Next visit, just ask the doc what they think about her height and weight. I think you will be pleasantly surprised that they are OK with it.

And, remember, every child is different. They all have different genes and grow and develop at their own rate. Enjoy her.

Do not worry
She is fine
My daughter was eight pounds 10 ounces when she was born
When she was a year, she was 28 pounds
Our neighbor boy, was 7 pounds and 7 ounces when he was born, at a year he was 19 pounds
They are six, my daughter is 51 pounds and the boy is 44 pounds.
Your baby is fine

I have the opposite problem at 4 1/2 months my son was 22 pounds but he was 9.9 at birth. As long as she is health and gaining at a regular pace for her don't worry about the charts. They are just an average to go by.

as long as she is following the growth curve, it doesn't matter what percentile she is in. my son has been in the bottom numbers all his life, but since it follows the curve, he's fine. he's just a tall thin kid. i know a lady that has a 4 month old that weight as much as my 16 month old. no need to worry.

I am having a similar experience. My 16 month old was 8.13 at birth, and then slowed way down. She is now 17lbs at 16 and a half months. Our doctor isn't that worried because developmentally, she talks more, walked earlier and is far more advanced than her peers. Talk to your doc.
