I agree with the 'wait and see' group, it's just alot more fun. Now-a-days everyone knows everything about your baby before it's born . I like the excitement of "We had the baby and it's a _____and we chose_________ for the name!"

This will be our first and we have decided to wait to find out. Everyone has been saying that we should find out so that we know what color stuff to get, but if you look in the stores there is SO much in gender neutral colors that is really cute that I'm not going to worry about it. We are prepared with a name for either a boy or a girl and are excited about the surprise!!!

I am hoping I am having 2 healthy babies. Thats all you can really ask for. The gender is just part of the package. Its actually kinda nice to know, but then sometimes I wish I hadnt found out because that would have made it a 1000 times better not knowing. Well I can tell you this.....its either a boy or a girl!! lol j/k :)

If you find out, you can more easily buy clothing items, appropriate toys, etc. However, choices today are practically unlimited and sticking to things like yellow and green are very easy to do. I did that with my first pregnancy because I don't like pink and I was having a girl. If you, on the other hand, want to go all pinky-pink or bluey-blue with the nursery or clothes/toys/etc. then you would probably want to find out.
Also, for my second pregnancy, we wanted to know because our children are close in age and we wanted to know if we had to buy all new clothes (opposite sex) or if we could just keep the nicer ones from the stuff we already had (same sex).
It's personal preference. We're planning for two more children and we'll probably let it be a surprise when we're ready for the third, just to have the nice surprise and something else to be excited to find out (other than counting fingers and toes and looking at the little baby features). :)
So, for exciting factor, I'd go with Surprise
If you like to be uber-prepared, I'd go with finding out. :)
Good luck!

I am 15 weeks and I've decided that I don't want to know about this one. For my second, I plan to find out, so that I can properly prepare the baby's older sibling. I think it would be far more helpful for the existing child to know whether he/she is going to get a baby brother or sister.
As for this time, I'm so apprehensive about the delivery, I think I'd much rather have the surprise to look forward to.

we found out with both of our children before they were born. it's just easier that way. with our first one, we wanted to know so that we could buy clothes and be prepared. with the second, we wanted to know, to see if we had to buy opposite gender clothes. they do make clothes that would work for a boy or a girl, but they are horrible looking, i think anyway. plus, i think knowing really helped me bond with the baby more to know what it was because then i could call it by it's name. knowing what it was did not take any of the surprise away.

I say find out, that way you can do some good shopping for the baby. I have 2 and both times I found out. I have one of each so maybe if I ever have another, I will make it a suprise. Its hard not to find out nowadays because of the 3D ultrasound, its amazing, you want to see everything on your baby!

my theory was that you can wait or you can find out. If you wait you have a surprise when the baby is delivered, unlike if you found out and then you wondered what baby looks like. If it is your second one and you found out with your first one then try something different. Each baby is different so treat if each pregnancy different.

Okay, I had a boy first, then a girl. Now I'm pregnant again, and me and my husband have pretty much just said this: "It's baby number 3. We got have some surprise, we already know what's going to happen!"

I always wanted to know beforehand, but they were wrong twice. So knowing it isn't a 100%, I think I would want to wait and be surprised so there is no disappointment one way or the other. Nothing worse than expecting pink and getting blue or vice-versa.
