Of course the media should make their reports complete. Does it mean the public needs to be subjected to unnecessary violence? No, because sometimes that will skew a story one way or another. I don't think news organizations need to highlight all the views of another country because a story's angle has to be reported according to who their readers/viewers are. So don't expect the New York Times to talk about Iraqi news the same way Al Jazeer does... it wouldn't make sense to us. Let us know the who, what, when and where and then leave it up to us to make our own assertions from there.

I feel that the media has the responsibility to show all sides of every story. If that means showing controversial items, violent or not, in order to show the whole truth, then fine.
So often, though, the head of the network or board members, censer so much that is put out, or only show the side of the story they are comfortable with.
If showing how war and other controversial subjects, truly effect all the people involved, there should be complete truth. If more people were actually aware of the truth behind many of the stories, perhaps more would be done to stop the violence.

No. Do you need to see it all? It's just catering to voyeurism. It has nothing to do with "complete coverage." Reading someone was killed or tortured is enough; no one needs a recorded play-by-play unless they're trying to fulfill some grotesque fantasy or curiosity.

Absolutely!
At least as much as they possibly can and to be truthful and unbiased about it as best they can!
However this can not always be accomplished for all news stories!
The best example of this is all of the "different" stories that came out about Princes Diana's tragic auto accident which resulted in her death.
Lo Siento!
