Klien makes a great philips screwdriver. The most important thing is that you are using the right tip. There are three tips that are most common. P1, P2(most common) and P3. Make sure you are using the right tip for the right screw so it does not strip either one.

Can't tell if you meant the screwdriver tip failing or the screwhead stripping, so heres an answer bor both.
The most common cause of Phillps screwheads stripping is the wrong size screwdriver! If the screhead is a #1, then use a #1 Phillips screwdriver!
As for the screwdiver failing, that does not happen to a good quality tool. A 10¢ cheapo from the bargain basket will not do much work for you before breaks.

You get what you pay for. For hand tools I really prefer Craftsman from Sears. They are guaranteed for life and well worth the extra couple bucks.
