I have tried to sync it with my home PC, BUT it keeps saying to sync it will delete all on my Ipod, which of course I do not want, as its over 1000 tracks - how can I set up Itunes on home PC and transer all songs on pod to PC without loosing any - so that I can add more?

If you go to senuti.com , it will provide you with an application that will allow you to see your iPod as a Hard Drive and save your music on you existing iPod(to Your P.C./Mac).
Hope you resolve this

ok, plug your ipod in to your pc, go into the preferences tab, and then click on the tab that says ipod.

Check the box that says enable disc use.

then, go to your desktop, and double click on the "my computer" icon.

Right-Click on the icon for your ipod and select explore

you should see a folder or a series of folders. you'll need to open each of the folders that you see and copy all of the files to a folder on your computer ( i suggest creating a new folder, and make note of the name of the folder)

once all of the files are copied onto your computer, go back to itunes.

then from the file tab, click "add folder to library" point it to the folder that you copied your files into and click open.

you may need to rename some of your songs, but they should be there.

also, if any of your songs were purchased from the itunes music store, you'll need to authorize your computer to play those songs.

once you've verified that all of your songs are there, you can go ahead and sync up using itunes.

Sorry, but ipod is the only mp3 brand that doesn't transfer songs to a computer. The only way to get those songs onto the pc again is by importing cds and buying them again.
Go to the itunes website and download itunes for your pc. I suggest going through the long process again (or giving some kid ten dollars to do it) to get the songs onto your computer.

I transferred all the songs on my ipod into a new itunes library when I got a new computer. I went on line and googled to find a way to do it. I downloaded a program directly to my computer and whola I had my itunes library all loaded up from my ipod. I wish I could remember what one I used but there were many to choose from.
Good luck

I think you have to burn cd's of all your tunes on your work computer, then take them home, then sync the ipod with your home computer, thus deleting all your songs, then re-load all the songs from the cds.

NO!

Don't listen to the other answerers here!

The ONLY Program you Need is one called "CopyPod" - it allows you to copy TO AND FROM your iPod.

MAKE SURE: iTunes doesn't automatically update - to be safe, use a different computer to copy the songs onto.

iPod is a one-way street.

computer to iPod

not

iPod to computer

however, there is a 3rd party software workaround.
download it for free and re-claim your music!
