I am interested in getting into commercial real estate, not sure what area....leasing, property management, lending, loan officer, I know it sounds cliche, but I basically just want to go where some big money can be made. I have a background in residential real estate as a loan officer and Account Executive for a subprime lender. From what I hear, people on the commercial side make some great money, it just seems that everyone wants someone with commercial experience. I am willing to pay my dues, training, mentoring, etc, but I just need to find somewhere to get my foot in the door. Any help?!

There are many different avenues in Commercial Real Estate. I am a commercial appraiser and it's a great job. It is difficult to get your foot in the door but once you are in; you can write your own ticket. Due to your bacground in finance I would ask appraisers that you have dealt with to help you out. I'm sure you could be a commercial loan officer if you find the right place due to your residential experience. Becoming a commercial broker is good but you need alot of contacts to become successful.

Talk to commercial real estate brokers and try to get signed. It is very hard to get into. This way you done waste your money on school first.

Apart from major job websites like Monster, Hotjobs, Careerbuilder and Craigslist where you could apply for jobs and post your resume online, you could also search for jobs using aggregators like Simply Hired and Indeed. Check this out for more information http://tinyurl.com/emdyn
