Although "actions speak louder than words" I'm of the school that there are times that only words can truly express your feelings towards one another. Sure, sure, you'll get the old "make him his favorite meal....get into your sexiest lingerie"....blah, blah, blah. Been there, done that.
Sometimes just meeting him at the door (if that's feasible) or waiting for the opportune time to sit next to him, lay your head on his shoulder and just talk quietly and caress one another speaks volumes. Sometimes all the poetry in the world or the fancy and favorite dinners can't do justice to just alittle privacy and intimacy. It also can't be cheapened. There is a time for tenderness and being soft and seductive and then there's a time for leather, handcuffs and 10/30W motor oil.
Sadly there are people out there that don't ever seem to understand that someone truly and deeply loves them. Of course this usually comes to light when it's to the point that things have broken down irretrievably. So sometimes all your best efforts go unnoticed and unappreciated. Then when the significant other wants to make amends it causes you to wonder what the true motive is because the love and tenderness you gave was never reciprocated until now. Go figure, human nature.
So, I'd suggest just being yourself. Tell him that he's your everything. That your world revolves around his. There doesn't have to be anything else involved unless you chose. I suspect he'll get the message just the way you intended it to be received.

Sometimes all we need is alittle verification that we still are loved and have a purpose and a reason to live for someone else.

It's nice that you like to say the L--- word.Guys that did not grow up in a loving family Seem to have a hard time with it. An when you say i L=== you .It makes the guy think he HAS 2 say it back??Some have 2 rather then want 2. We say it in our time an choice. So it might be better 2 go easy .Let him know other ways ,it will make him feel better under no pressure. It's just my thought

For my man, who allows me to be a stay at home mom and works 100 hour weeks, I make him lunch every day he works, with homemade breakfast sandwiches and homemade dessert. And the homemade foods are from scratch. I don't have to do these things for him, but it makes him feel special, because he is the only person on his crew that gets this stuff. All the others on the crew stop at the store and buy their lunch.
I think to show someone that you love them, it is like grabbing a cup of coffee for them when you get theirs.
Or giving him a nice long hot bath, and do all the work for him, washing his hair and his body, then drying him off, kind of sexy for both of you too.
Just doing something special that you don't do on an everyday basis makes a man feel loved too.
It is the small things that really show you love someone.

Do nice things for him. Write little love notes, a hug, a kiss or a smile. I show my man that I love him by doing little things like having a pot of coffee ready when he comes home from work and making him a cup when he gets in. I also write and or email simple little things, like I love u or have a great day, cant wait to see you. Just simple little things or cuddle with him while watching tv. Hope this helps a bit

whats his "love language"?
Does he respond well when you tell him you love him, or does he appreciate it more when you clean the house or buy him a small gift?
My husband and i read "The 5 love languages" (By Dr. Chapman) and found out we speak different love languages.. now we know how to really show each other our love.

it's in the little things you do for him every day - offer to iron his shirt for work, or make his lunch....shovel the snow before he gets home so he can relax....people always say actions speak louder than words. :)
