Well it is unlikely you will get any other reason other than I hate bush. But the fact of the matter is that the Iraq war is about UN resolutions that were unmet after being given YEARS to comply with. Hussein Snubbed his nose at the world and finally after years of doing that the US took action. And it was not only the US that said something needed to be done. Many other countries agreed BUT we were the only ones who took the action… this is about terrorism but it is mainly about the UN resolutions of which I believe there were about 4-5 of them that had been unmet .. and ONE of them being that Iraq had to PROVE to the UN that it had destroyed ALREADY known WMDS.. it was a fact they had them. But when it came time for them to account for them. They suddenly “misplaced” them. .. the left is so full of hated pure and simple for bush. They don’t care about Facts. CLINTON had many opportunities to prevent many things and he sat on his hands because it was not the “popular” thing to do. Bush had a lot of this crap dumped in his lap and has had to deal with it. but beware you will hear all about the crybabies on here saying the war was for NO reason. Obviously the Entertainment TV stations they listen to fail to inform them of the reasons. ..just to respond to one answerer.. is it so surprising that no WMDS WERE found?? there were about 4 years from when the last of the weapons inspectors were tossed out of IRAQ till the last war.. do you think they are just going to sit around . hell of course i am sure they were moved or hidden. so its not surprising at all... and there were MORE than the WMD that was not met by the UN resolutions.. that is just ONE.. again many other countries agreed something needed to be done but no one took action besides US..

Someone in the White House had a "war woody" and felt the need to use the military as an extension of his manhood...something like compensating for his lack of personal equipment.

Best guess is that he wanted to one-up his daddy.
Problem is, ol' "W" (a history major at Yale, if you can believe that!) failed to read his daddy's' book on why G.H.W. Bush did NOT complete the invasion during the Gulf War.

"W" also failed to comprehend the facts of history on what happens when an army does not properly prepare for an invasion.

If only Bush had listened to Colin Powell, we wouldn't be in this mess.

Ok. We are in Iraq for who knows why. Bush wants to make money, terrorism...who knows. The question is "Is there a justifiable reason for being there?". And the answer is "No". The U.N resolution that calvin is talking about is that saddam had to destroy the WMD he had. Bush said saddam still had them and never destroyed them. We went in and they were gone. We never found weapons of mass destruction. We should leave. But being the idiot bush is, putting us in this situation, we can not just leave. We have to ride this a bit longer to help stabalize their government. Thanks to bush tho the U.S will see more terrorism then its ever seen before. Also where is bin laden? we sould have finished afgahnistan frst...

To gain control of their oil. There have been vicious dictators in other countries, like Haiti, and we didn't lift a finger to "help" them with a "democracy." Look through the history of U.S. and Central America, especially Equador and Nicaragua to learn how our country does things.

Because we hate Muslims, are mean spirited and are bullies. That's the democratic version anyway.

The other version is that it is necessary to combat terrorism there rather than here.

REMEMBER SEPTEMBER 11TH, 2001? MAYBE BUSH DID HAVE SOME UNFINISHED BUSINESS, BUT WHAT THEY DID WAS THE ICING ON THE CAKE. PERSONALLY, I THINK WE SHOULD TAKE ALL THE KIDS OUT, SEND THEM TO ANTARTICA, AND BLOW THAT PART OF THE WORLD TO SMITHERINES, THEN MAKE IT A HUGE WAL-MART.

THAT'S WHY.
