Most women I know don't shave, they wax: it lasts longer! I traveled a lot in Europe : from North to South and from West to East so I can assure you that legs and armpits are always hairless when on display. Maybe old women, people in remote areas or even some city women don't do it when no one can see that, but as a rule, people (women and some men too) get rid of excess hair!

Some older women in France, Germany, and Spain don't really shave that much. British women shave or wax almost everything. Some women in France still have hairy armpits. I think it's because they didn't shave when they were young, and they see no need to do it now. I used to think that poor, uneducated women were less inclined to shave their body hair, but I don't believe that theory is always true. Some of the poorest women live in the Middle East, and they shave everything.

Actually, I live in Europe. Many women shave. Older women, 45+ usually don't but most of the younger generation does. Also, deploritory lotion is more popular in Europe than in the States.

I think those must be old g.i. stories dating back to the 2nd world war when most women in Europe really didn't shave!
I'm writing from Italy where women today shave their body hair - and so do men - and take excellent care of themselves.

It's another urban legend, I'm afraid. it's true that some european women don't, but I only know one or two who don't, and I've lived in Europe all my life!
It's probably about the same percentage as most other places.

Yes, it's true. Depends on the country and part of the country they are from. Isn't that just DISGUSTING??? Like hello, it's 2007 no need to be hairy!

living in italy... don't go near pools! most of them dont shave there underarms!
