I really like Nivea Shave Gel....you can get for several different types of skin conditions (i.e. sensitive skin) which should help reduce razor burn and irritation. Also, the razors which have a vibrate function work well, I have always used a Gillette Mach 3, but have recently purchased the Power one, with battery powered vibration. I do feel it gives me a closer shave and, combined with the shave gel, provides the best possible shave. It might also be a thought to get him an electric razor. While expensive, it really does give the least amount of irritation if the blades are sharp, and its safer to use because you arent handling an actual blade...they are also pretty cool, and portable, without the use of shaving cream. I have both a razor, and an electric. Hope that helps.

The Gillette Mach 3 razor works great. I also like those electric Norelco shavers with the three seperate blades. The only problem with the Gillette Mach 3 is that the blades have to be replaced about every two or three months. The blades for the electric Norelco shaver can last for more than a year. You also have to buy shaving cream for the Gillette Mach 3. A can of shaving cream only lasts a few weeks. Over time, you actually save more money by purchasing a more expensive electric shaver.

Mach 3 is the best, don't use the single blade Gillette most people don't use them any more. There only good for hacking the face. When the Mach 3 cam out guys were talking like have you tried the mach 3 you gotta try it. A little more expensive but last quite a while longer than 2 blade Gillette Rather than using after shave tell him to use rubbing alcohol especially if your sensitive to perfume and I find rubbing alcohol works better than after shave.

Can cream sucks. Use shave soap cakes and a lather brush. Can't go wrong with any Gillette razor. Pick one that has the right size shave head. The more blades a head has the larger it is to handle. Why pay more for 5 blades if 2 is good enough and more comfortable to use?

Like the other guy said, Nivea Shave Gel is excellent. You can also try a Gillette shave gel. For the razor, I suggest a Gillette Fusion or Gillette Phantom. Good Luck

As a former actor and model the only shave cream i use is AMERICAN CREW SHAVE the herbal shave cream is THE BEST...it has natural vitamins, anti oxidants that protect and condition skin damaged by shaving and the environment. and the after shave moisturizer should follow im 38 and eveyone says i look 25.....and using only natural not store bought soaps like Rooibos tea extract soap from a fine health food store is great on the skin...also for zits or nicks TEA TREE OIL IS BEST!

Wow, your sons a stud! I didn't start shaving until I was in H.S. Costco carried the Good News disposable blades.. I use them sometimes along with an expensive electric razor. (prefer disposables).. I don't care for the gel shaving creams. Make sure he washes his face well.. and then find a decent shaving cream. I use what's on sale. .
