Miss Kitty, was she always on the show? I remember not seeing her on a few shows. What happen?

The radio version ran from 1952 to 1961 and is commonly regarded as one of the finest radio dramas of all time. The television version ran from 1955 to 1975. Amanda Blake was on the TV show from the start, but I think she missed some episodes because of cancer. She quit the show in 74 and missed the last season.

20 years, from 1955-1975.
miss kitty was only on 337 out of 635 episodes.
