I'm not aware of anything in those products that would increase the risk of birth defects. We usually say that the bloodstream absorbs far less of most things you use topically than it does of products taken orally. So the amount that gets to the fetus would be minimal. If you choose to use these products, try to minimize your exposure by using the product in a well-ventilated area and limiting the amount of time it stays on your skin.

I don't think you have anything to worry about from chemicals getting through your skin, the skin is a very effective organ for keeping things out. But, you should make sure that you use it in a well ventilated area (i.e. use the bathroom fan and leave the door open). And, make sure you do a test patch even though you've used it before, your skin can become a lot more sensitive during pregnancy.

Now, I'm off to get the image of you using it on your bikini line out of my head. j/k, I've done it too.

It's best to reduce the toxic load on your body as much as possible when you are pregnant. Take a look at the list of ingredients. Do you know what any of those chemicals are? They are pretty nasty things, and personally I think you should find another method of hair removal while you are pregnant. They won't have tested those chemicals on pregnant women because that's unethical, so better to be safe than sorry.

no! any kind of bleaching agent is not good to go around while pregnant. hair dye including. I washed my floors last night with a SMALL amount of bleach and I got very sick afterwards, I got a headache, and chest pains. after I left the house, the feeling went away.

after a while you won't be able to see your bikini line anyway, and trying to shave, trim, bleach, is almost impossible. it sucks..

yes it should be fine - we use many different kinds of products, (some synthetic and chemical) everyday - we can't help being exposed to them. The level of toxicity is very low, as is only used in very small doses. you will have nothing to worry about.

Stay away from any chemicals that may harm the baby. Any chemical is bad.

To be TOTALLY safe - PLEASE ask your gynecologist! However, I wouldn't think it would affect the baby. Good luck and Congrats!

You should always ask a doctor about what is right and not right to use.
