Over all I am a good student, 3.5 GPA. No grade lower than a B. I am about to finish my Associates and I was withdrew from 3 classes, leaving 3 Big! W's on my transcript. I have appealed but had no success. How bad does that look on my record? Will it affect me in any way in the future? What can you tell me about this?

I think if there was a good explanation it shows maturity that you'd withdraw instead of fail the classes or get Ds. Believe me, I know people who've done that. I agree with the previous post that you would want to explain if you are ever asked for your transcript, with a thoughtful answer on an attachment. It's not that it's a big deal, but you don't want them speculating as to why you withdrew. I would get a copy of the school's handbook, and look at the grading policies. Read into the rules closely and see if there's an argument you can make for getting the Ws taken off; just asking won't be enough because they will try to be so uniform in applying the rules. If it doesn't factor into your GPA I think it will be difficult to get them taken off. I don't agree with the previous posts that you just shouldn't worry about it because no one asks - it depends on what you do I guess but I get asked for transcripts regularly.

This will not scar you for life. Especially if this is just for an associate's degree, chances are that no future employer will even ask to see a copy of your transcript, unless you're in an academic capacity at a school. On your resume, just put down your GPA.

Universities and faculties tend to place extra advantageous weight on Grade ingredient conventional, Rigor of the Curriculum you have taken (Remedial Algebra isn't rigorous whilst in comparison with Alg I), SAT / ACT scores. some faculties evaluate your status on your graduating type (not weighted like those above) or Extracurricular events / community Involvement (not weighted as lots) in case you look into the colleges internet internet site and pass under admissions. some would extremely provide you a breakdown of their weighted scale for get right of entry to into their college. a school excursion is in basic terms a school pass to - that expresses interest interior the college and aspects an danger to speak with the recruiter. If the college asked you in my opinion w/ determine to attend the excursion then they're attracted to you - communicate with the recruiter that called you. in case you attended the college excursion with a set / type / field trip or something like that then the college is doing its recruiting technique extra often than not - to the a lot in a feeling - no remember while you're qualified / met their standards or not you would be doing the excursion.

The school will not take a W off your transcript because you did withdrawal from the classes. I do know that most colleges and employeers understand things happen and sometimes you must withdrawal so it won't look as bad as you think it does.

When you apply to new schools, you will be able to add a section to your essay or cover letter where you can explain why you withdrew from these classes. Given your grades in your other classes, it shouldn't be a problem. But make sure you address it.

Don't sweat it. Believe me, I have NEVER had anyone so much as give a hoot about my GPA (3.92). Recruiters and employers only care if you attended college and COMPLETED it.

A "W" shouldn't be factored into your GPA, so you shouldn't have to worry about it. I don't think anyone would care about W's.
